Reverence for the Solar Current - Sekhem
There is a tendency in every era to “make nice” what was never meant to be just love and light…
I have witnessed people take a goddess of war, plague, purification, and divine wrath and attempt to put her in language that makes her easier to approach. A mother figure. A comfort figure. A symbol of reassurance. While I understand that certain archetypes can show up differently for people, I am going to speak solely about Sekhmet. This is where my experience over the past seven years is held….and as a High Priestess of her solar current, I have stood inside the work that does not allow for romantic interpretation.
I have entered spaces holding residue older than the people occupying them and moved what resisted being moved. In that I had to choose my power over my fear. I have removed presences that hold generations of darkness and clung to origins that predate memory. In that I questioned my authority and feelings of smallness. In these moments the embodiment of Sekhmet is precise and refined. The body/nervous system are the anchor. The sight is pulled to exact points. There is no room for emotional negotiation. The work proceeds whether one is comfortable or not. She will not save you, if you have not taken the time to learn the ancient temple ways.
Sekhmet does not seek out devotees. She does not reward those who seek healing just to be fixed. She dismantles what is false and leaves only what can survive exposure. This is why those who work deeply with her do not describe her as soft. They describe her as cosmic law. It is a primordial presence that cannot be mistaken.
In the ancient temples she was invoked to restore order. To burn corruption from the body, the land, and the soul. Her healing was inseparable from destruction because what cannot be destroyed cannot be made pure. To approach her power is to accept initiation. Healing is only the first step. Beyond it is confrontation with the life you say you want and the discipline required to hold it. The exchange is simple and intense….bring what is untrue and place it in the fire.
Sekhem Heka exists to reveal truth. And truth, when it arrives does not seek to be gentle. Purification by fire is a process and in that process the heart is finally able to expand and breathe. This work is not about praise but about standing so deeply in truth, in the space of the heart, that you cannot be moved.
That is transformation in the belly of fire with Goddess Sekhmet. DJED MEDU. KHENMET SEKHMET
